I was lucky enough to be at one of the showings for the movie “Age of Stupid” tonight. It assumes the climate change forecasts and looks back on the earth from the perspective of the year 2055, with particular focus on the effects of the oil industry. Real, current stories from diverse people all over the world are shown as video clip retrospectives, bringing depth and personal interest to the issues.
The launch concept is interesting as well. Indie Screenings allows people do do their own screenings of movies…anyone can buy the rights and then take in money to show a movie. How cool is that?
Age of Stupid won’t be released internationally until September.
